![]() ![]() At WWDC 2016, Apple discussed their design paradigm called transparency consent and control (TCC), which focused on obtaining a user's consent for access to private or protected data. The concept of user consent has existed for years in the Apple OS ecosystem. Any macOS device administrator wanting to ease their users’ transition to the new user consent for data access behavior in Mojave must pay close attention to the new Privacy Preferences Policy Control payload. Second, it expands the locations for which a new attempt from a sandboxed macOS application to access data within another sandboxed app (or protected data or files) must first be allowed by the user or by Mobile Device Management (MDM). First, it centralizes the control and restriction for apps that impersonate a user (and possibly make security decisions on their behalf). This updated security model for user consent for data access performs two basic functions. ![]() ![]() The macOS Mojave 10.14.0 release introduces some updates to the Apple user-centric inter-app data-sharing security model. ![]()
